So, this past Wednesday Matthew was officially commissioned within the United Methodist Church (KY Annual Conference). This is a big step for us, as it makes everything seem so much more official...at least for me. The service was amazing. There is nothing like a processional of Bishops with banners, staffs, crosses, and clergy of various levels all dressed in robes. I love high liturgy. Maybe it is my Catholic background, maybe my quirky personality, but either way listening to 1,000+ people singing the "Gloria Patri" gives me goosebumps. Bishop Swanson from the Holston district (TN) offered an AMAZING sermon. I could listen to that man preach for hours.
I am so proud of my husband. He has worked very hard to get this far, and I know that God has amazing things planned for us.
If you would like to see pictures from Wednesday, you can click here to see the official pictures. I have some and a video of Matthew's Commissioning and as soon as I figure out how to get it from my phone to you....you can see it. :)
Hope all of you are well!
